Construction work on Ringus-Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur railway electrification project completed

Construction work on the Ringus-Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur railway electrification project has been completed. Further, the Commissioner of Railway Safety has granted safety clearance for the project. However, commercial operations are expected to commence by March 2020 as the yard remodelling works are under progress at the Jaipur railway station. The project involves electrification of the existing 188 km Ringus-Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur railway line in Rajasthan at an estimated cost of Rs 1.63 billion. It was approved in Railway Budget 2016-17 and was awarded to RITES Limited for execution on a turnkey basis.
