CIL allows inter-plant coal transfer to IPPs

CIL has allowed inter-plant coal transfer to independent power producers (IPPs) to use contracted coal at any plant run by the same group. Accordingly, an IPP that owns two different plants and has two separate fuel supply agreements in place can now transfer coal from one plant to another to improve efficiency in generation and reduce the cost of fuel. This facility was earlier available to central and state power generating companies only.
