Central government approves the construction of three railway lines in Arunachal Pradesh

The central government has granted approval for construction of three railway projects in Arunachal Pradesh. These are the Bhalukpong-Tenga-Tawang (378 km), North Lakhimpur-Bame-Aalo-Silapathar (247.85 km) and Pasighat-Tezu-Parsuram Kund-Rupai (227 km) railway lines. The three railway lines are estimated to cost Rs 600 billion-Rs 700 billion. They will help in improving connectivity to the northern and eastern frontiers of the state and will increase economic activity in the region. It will also provide all-weather connectivity to tourist places and will help in improving national security besides accelerating socio-economic development.
