Railways launch nine Sewa Service trains to connect small town to major cities

Indian Railways (IR) launched nine Sewa Service trains on October 22, 2019, to achieve last-mile connectivity for people travelling between small towns and major cities. While the trains between Delhi and Shamli, Bhubaneswar and Nayagarh town, Murkongselex and Dibrugarh, Kota and Jhalawar City and Coimbatore and Palani will run daily, trains between Vadnagar and DescriptionMehsana, Asarva and Himmatnagar, Karur and Salem, Yesvantpur and Tumkur and Coimbatore and Pallachi will operate six days a week. IR is planning to run more such trains for passengers of smaller towns and cities. These measures are also expected to boost IR’s earnings.
