NHAI to focus on land acquisition for new projects

Reportedly, NHAI is planning to prioritise land acquisition for projects that are set to be awarded over the next two-three years in order to fast-track the execution of economically viable road projects. The authority has created a pipeline of projects with a total worth of Rs 8 trillion to be awarded over the next three years. Prioritising land acquisition for these projects will help streamline the land acquisition process as it remains one of the most crucial and challenging part of road projects. Besides, NHAI is trying to ensure that land acquisition is completed through the Bhoomi Rashi portal only so that compensation reaches the beneficiary directly.
