CDPQ plans InvIT for its road assets

Reportedly, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) is planning to set up an InvIT to house road assets acquired by the Canadian pension fund manager. It is exploring the setting up of an InvIT to hold the roads that it plans to buy from Global Infrastructure Partners, as well as other road assets that it might buy in the future. Besides, CDPQ has initiated discussions with a few domestic institutional investors to invest in the InvIT, as per a mandate from the Canadian office to bring in co-investors. It plans to sell at least 10 per cent of the InvIT to domestic investors.
