The cabinet has approved the proposal for the revival of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) by administrative allotment of spectrum for 4G services, debt restructuring by raising bonds with sovereign guarantees, reducing employee costs, and monetisation of assets. It has also given in-principle approval to the merger of BSNL and MTNL.
