BHEL commissions 800 MW supercritical unit for GSECL

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has commissioned an 800 MW supercritical thermal power unit at the Wanakbori expansion project in Kheda, Gujarat. The plant is owned by Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL). BHEL had earlier set up seven units of 210 MW capacity each at the Wanakbori thermal power station. BHEL has executed the order for setting up the plant on an EPC basis. The scope of work included the design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of the steam turbine generator, boiler, associated auxiliaries and electricals, controls and instrumentation, and electrostatic precipitators.
