PFC Consulting Limited has issued letters of award to Jindal Power Limited, JSW Energy Limited, Korba West Power Company Limited and Essar Power MP Limited to supply power aggregating 1,000 MW to three southern states at a tariff of Rs 4.41 per unit under the Ministry of Power’s Pilot Scheme II. Accordingly, Jindal Power will supply 315 MW, followed by Korba West Power Company (295 MW), JSW Energy (290 MW) and Essar Power MP (100 MW) for three years. The power purchase agreements for supply of 1,000 MW to the three states are expected to be signed within a month. NHPC Limited is at advanced stages of negotiations with other states for tying up the remaining 1,500 MW of power under the scheme. NHPC is the aggregator for tying up 2,500 MW of power for the medium term under Pilot Scheme II.
