The Ministry of Coal has entered into an allotment agreement with West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited for the Deocha Pachami Dewanganj-Harinsingha coal block located in Birbhum district of West Bengal. The block has been allotted under the provisions of the Coal Block Allocation Rules, 2017. With estimated reserves of 2,102 mt, Deocha Pachami is the second largest coal mine in the world.
