The Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express services began commercial operations on October 5, 2019. The train, which is the country’s first private train, will be managed by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the e-ticketing and catering arm of Indian Railways (IR). Tejas Express is the first step by the MoR towards introducing private trains on IR’s network. The train offers several unique features including partial refunds if there is any delay, baggage pick-up and drop facility and a travel insurance of Rs 2.5 million.
