MoCA declines request to increase bilateral flying rights on short-haul destinations

The Ministry of Civil Aviation, in a recent meeting, has declined the request of airlines to increase bilateral foreign flying rights on short-haul destinations with certain countries and instead asked airlines to look at other available routes. Of late, the government is not increasing foreign flying rights with countries in West Asia and Southeast Asia, as their allocation has been controversial in the past and was flagged by Indian audit and investigation agencies.
