Cairn Oil and Gas plans to drill 78 wells for exploration of oil and gas in Rajasthan

Cairn Oil and Gas, a vertical of Vedanta Limited, is planning to drill 78 wells for onshore exploration of oil and gas at RJ-ONHP-2017/3 block in Jalore district in Rajasthan. Besides, the proposal for grant of environmental clearance for the project was submitted to the MoEFCC on August 28, 2019. The ToR for the same was granted on April 25, 2019. Cairn has also proposed setting up of early production units for processing and production of the produced well fluid (up to 32,000 barrels of oil per day) and natural gas (up to 4.8 million metric standard cubic feet per day) at RJ-ONHP-2017/3 block (across Bhinmal, Bagoda, Raniwara, Sanchor and Chitalwana in Jalore district) that it had won under the first round of the OALP.
