Redevelopment of Tirupati railway station project is likely to be completed by 2023

Construction work on the project for redevelopment of the Tirupati railway station is likely to be completed by 2023. The project involves redevelopment of the Tirupati railway station in Andhra Pradesh at a cost of Rs 4 billion. The scope of work includes upgrading the level of passenger amenities by new construction/renovation including redevelopment of station buildings, platform surfaces, the circulating area, etc., to higher standards so as to better serve passengers. It also includes construction of eight platforms, shifting of the existing yard to the west railway station and construction of an eight-storeyed building on the south side. It will be developed in phases with Phase I including south-side building works and some initial work on the north side. The station is being developed by NBCC on a self-sustainable finance model.
