Chennai Peripheral Road project gets CRZ clearance from MoEFCC

The 133.38 km Chennai Peripheral Road project has received coastal regulation zone clearance from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu government is fast-tracking the process of diversion of forest land on the outskirts of Chennai, besides acquiring private land for commencement of construction work on the project. The road will connect Ennore port to Poonjeri Junction in Mahabalipuram, while passing through Singaperumalkoil, Sriperumbadur, Tiruvallur, Thamaraipakkam, Periyapalayam, Puduvoyal and Kattupalli in Chennai.
