The central government inaugurated various projects at Visakhapatnam port on August 23, 2019. These projects are Coal Jetty I, North Cargo Berth III and a railway line from the marshalling yard to Hare Island. The cumulative cost of these projects is Rs 1.39 billion. In addition, foundation stones were laid for a 140 kW rooftop solar power plant and widening of the harbour entrance at the port.
