The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) is planning to generate additional funds from stations located along expressways by levying a commission on every litre of petrol or diesel sold. As part of the Budget 2019-20 announcements, the ministry has lost its exclusive right to use the erstwhile road cess (now known as the road and infrastructure cess).
