Ministry of Railways granted in-principle approval for Nagpur-Nagbhid railway gauge conversion project

The Ministry of Railways granted in-principle approval for the Nagpur-Nagbhid railway gauge conversion project on July 9, 2019. The project involves conversion of the 106 km long Nagpur-Nagbhid narrow gauge railway line in Maharashtra into broad gauge at an estimated cost of Rs 9.22 billion. It will boost freight and passenger traffic on the section and will provide improved transportation of coal to nearby coal mines.
