The Haryana government has granted approval for the Jind-Hisar new railway line project. The project involves laying of a 50 km long new railway line connecting Jind and Hisar via six new railway stations – Intal Kalan, Rajpura, Narnaund, Madha, Kherigagan and Sheikhpura – in Haryana at an estimated cost of Rs 9.23 billion. It will be implemented by a special purpose vehicle (SPV) with equity participation from various stakeholders including Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited and is expected to be completed by 2023.
