The Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) of the Delhi government has given its approval to the “hotspot” model, under which free internet will be provided to the residents of Delhi. Further, the EFC has approved a sum of Rs 990 million to set up about 11,000 hotspots while the public works department has been assigned the task of creating a free Wi-Fi system in the city.
