MMB awards contracts for EMP and environmental monitoring

The Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB) has awarded the contracts for implementing the environment management plan (EMP) and carrying out environmental monitoring for maintenance dredging activities proposed in the Vasai, Bankot, Dabhol and Vaghotan creeks in Maharashtra to Fine Envirotech Engineers and Mahabal Enviro Engineers Private Limited. Fine Envirotech Engineers has secured the contracts for the Vaghotan river (Rs 0.71 million) and the Dabhol creek (Rs 0.14 million), while Mahabal Enviro Engineers has won the contracts for the Vasai creek (Rs 0.094 million) and Bankot creek (Rs 0.12 million). The scope of work for the consultants involves implementing the approved EMP and carrying out environmental monitoring by testing the samples collected in the field for the proposed maintenance dredging activities. The dredging activities have been planned for a period of two years in two phases – Phase I: October 1, 2018-September 30, 2019, and Phase II: October 1, 2019-September 30, 2020.
