The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) has awarded the contract for assuring least available depth of 2.5-3 metres through performance-based dredging in the Sultanganj-Mahendrapur (74 km) and Mahendrapur-Barh (71 km) stretches of National Waterway-1 to Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited. The contract value of the two stretches is Rs 1.59 billion and Rs 1.83 billion respectively.
