IR has ordered another 40 sets of indigenously developed and manufactured Train 18, officially known as the Vande Bharat Express, for new routes. Further, for improved safety, it plans to fit the driver cabin crash guard with aluminium instead of fibre reinforced plastic that is currently being used.
