Construction contract for terminals under Kochi water transport project awarded to Marymatha Construction

The contract for the construction of three terminals under the Kochi integrated water transport project has been awarded to Marymatha Construction Company (MCC). The three terminals will be constructed at Vytilla, Eroor and Kakkanad. The bids for the project were invited in January 2019 and two firms were shortlisted as technically qualified – MCC and RDS Project Limited. The project involves the development of an integrated water transport system in Kochi at an investment of Rs 8,190 million. It is being funded with the help of Germany-based KfW Development Bank, which will provide a loan of Rs 5,820 million while the remaining cost will be funded by the Kerala government. The project will be implemented in two phases.
