The CERC has allowed Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (Powergrid) to offer its electricity towers to telecom companies in order to address the issue of deficiency of telecom coverage in remote areas. Powergrid will undertake a capex of about Rs 2 million per location to make the infrastructure changes required to use the towers.
