During fiscal year 2018-19, Indian major ports handled 699.05 million tonnes (mt) of traffic, as compared to 679.37 mt in 2017-18, registering an increase of 2.9 per cent. Deendayal port (erstwhile Kandla port) handled the maximum traffic at 115.4 mt, followed by Paradip port (109.28 mt) and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) (70.71 mt). In terms of growth, Kamarajar port reported the maximum increase (13.31 per cent), followed by Kolkata (10.06 per cent) and Cochin (9.9 per cent).
