Ethanol blending estimated to reach 7.2 per cent in 2018-19 marketing year

Ethanol blending with petrol is estimated to reach 7.2 per cent in the 2018-19 marketing year (December 2018 to November 2019) as against 4.22 per cent in the 2017-18 marketing year. Against a requirement of 3.3 billion litres of ethanol for 10 per cent ethanol blending in the country (with the exception of Jammu & Kashmir, the north-eastern states and island territories), ethanol supply contracts have been signed for 2.37 billion litres for the ethanol supply period 2018-19.
