The Ministry of Civil Aviation has given its consent to Vistara Airlines’ proposal to launch international operations. The airline had planned to commence operations in 2018 after meeting the requirement of 20 aircraft and the proposal for this was forwarded in 2017. However, this did not materialise owing to approvals pending from the government. With the approval now being granted, the airline becomes the fifth in the country to provide international connectivity. At present, Vistara has 60 aircraft in its fleet and is expected to flag off the first international flight to Colombo in Sri Lanka soon.
