APM Terminals Mumbai sets record of handling largest volume in a single port call

APM Terminals Mumbai, India’s busiest container terminal, has set a record of handling the largest volume in a single port call. The terminal achieved this feat on March 12, 2019 by handling 11,026 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) on CMA CGM-owned M.V. APL New York during a single port call. It was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the operations team, commercial team and all the support functions at the terminal.

APM Terminals Mumbai is a joint venture between APM Terminals and the Container Corporation of India. Operating from Nhava Sheva’s Jawaharlal Nehru Port Terminal, APM Terminals Mumbai services around 13 per cent of India’s throughput and achieved a record performance of handling over 2 million TEUs in 2018.
