MoR plans to provide Wi-Fi facility at all railway stations

The MoR is planning to provide Wi-Fi facilities at 6,441 railway stations by September 2019. As part of the plan, the ministry is targeting to equip 775 stations with Wi-Fi by March 31, 2019 and 4,791 stations by September 2019. The capital expenditure for procurement of equipment for 4,791 stations will be borne by Tata Trusts and for the remaining stations by the MoR. Currently, Wi-Fi is being provided at 832 stations.
