GMR emerges highest bidder for Bhogapuram airport; gets LoA for Nagpur airport

GMR Airports Limited has emerged as the highest bidder for the development, operation and management of the Bhogapuram greenfield international airport on a PPP basis. The company offered the highest fee of Rs 303 per passenger to the government for developing the airport. Andhra Pradesh Airports Development Corporation Limited, the nodal agency, has proposed handing over the airport to the selected bidder for a concession period of 40 years. The foundation stone for the airport was laid on February 14, 2019. In a separate development, GMR Airports Limited has received the letter of award from MIHAN [Multimodal International Hub Airport at Nagpur] India Limited (MIL) for the development, operations and management of the Nagpur international airport on a PPP basis. For this, GMR has offered the highest revenue share of 14.49 per cent of gross revenues to MIHAN for a period of 30 years.
