Central government lays foundation stone for new railway station building in Vijayapura

The central government has laid the foundation stone for construction of a new railway station building in Vijayapura. The building, equipped with modern facilities, will be constructed at a cost of Rs 155 million. Meanwhile, work on a road overbridge (RoB) in lieu of a level crossing (No. 84) between the Vijayapura and Minchanal railway stations was also initiated. The estimated cost of the RoB is Rs 212 million, and will be shared by IR and the Karnataka state government.
