Phase III of Kochi integrated refinery expansion project inaugurated

The central government has inaugurated Phase III of the Kochi integrated refinery expansion project and laid the foundation stone for the polyol, propylene glycol and monoethylene glycol petrochemical project at the Kochi refinery on January 27, 2019. BPCL is implementing the Kochi integrated refinery expansion project in Ernakulam district of Kerala at an investment of Rs 219.26 billion. The project involves expansion of the refining capacity of the Kochi refinery from 9.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) to 15.5 mtpa. The polyol, propylene glycol and monoethylene glycol petrochemical project, developed on a total area of 193.6 acres, involves setting up of a unit for petrochemical production at Kochi refinery.
