IR has linked its locomotives via Indian Space Research Organisation satellites making it easy to track trains and automatically feed the control charts with a train’s arrival and departure information. The information will be acquired automatically using ISRO’s satellite-based real-time train information system. The system has been implemented on some mail and express trains on the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Bandra Terminus, New Delhi-Patna, New Delhi-Amritsar and Delhi-Jammu routes.
