Haryana government plans to construct a new BG rail corridor between Palwal and Sonepat

The Haryana government has plans of constructing a 130 km new broad gauge rail corridor between Palwal and Sonepat at an estimated cost of around Rs 41 billion. The detailed project report for the project is being prepared by the Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (HRIDC). The corridor will run parallel to the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway and will be double line electrified with a 25 tonne axle load capacity. The project is being developed as a JV and the stakeholders are Indian Railways (IR), the Haryana government, HRIDC, Container Corporation of India Limited, Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited, the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, Maruti Suzuki, and Model Economic Township Limited.
