Foundation stones laid for Bhoguparam airport; terminal buildings at Visakhapatnam and Tiruchirapalli airports

The central government laid the foundation stone for the Bhogapuram greenfield international airport project (Vizianagaram) on February 14, 2019. The project will be developed at an investment of Rs 42.09 billion on a public-private partnership (PPP) basis, with a concession period of 30 years. Meanwhile, the government also laid the foundation stone for expansion of the terminal building at Visakhapatnam airport on February 12, 2019. The expansion works will be taken up at a cost of Rs 600 million to accommodate at least 1,000 passengers during peak hours. In another development, the foundation stone for the new terminal building at Tiruchirappalli airport in Tamil Nadu was laid on February 10, 2019. The project entails an investment of Rs 9.51 billion.
