Cuttack sewerage and drainage project to be completed by end-2019

The Cuttack sewerage and drainage project under the Odisha Integrated Sanitation Improvement Project, Phases I and II, is likely to be completed by December 2019. Currently, work on 277 km of sewer lines and seven pumping stations has been completed. Besides, a 36 million litre per day (mld) sewage treatment plant (STP) at Satichaura has also been commissioned under the project. The project involves construction of sewerage and drainage facilities in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities and aims to provide reliable sewerage and drainage service in the cities, thereby improving the hygiene and living conditions of residents. The total estimated cost of the project is Rs 8.11 billion.
