The Andhra Pradesh government inaugurated the Orvakal greenfield airport located in Kurnool district on January 9, 2019. With this development, commercial flight services from the airport are expected to commence by April 2019. The airport is the seventh airport in the state and has been developed by Andhra Pradesh Airports Development Corporation Limited at an investment of Rs 1.1 billion.
