Bharti Airtel’s subsidiary Airtel Networks Kenya Limited has signed an agreement with Telkom Kenya Limited to merge their mobile, enterprise and carrier services businesses in Kenya and establish a new entity, Airtel-Telkom, with enhanced scale and operational efficiency and strategic brand presence. In addition, the two operators will also invest in networks in order to accelerate the roll-out of future technologies. However, the finalisation and closure of the deal is subject to approvals by the relevant authorities. The enterprise and carrier services businesses would benefit from a larger fibre footprint and an increased number of enterprise customers (both large corporations and small and medium enterprises), who will have access to a diverse portfolio of world-class solutions.
