A consortium of Datamatics Global Services Limited and AEP Ticketing Solutions S.R.L, Italy has been issued a letter of acceptance (LoA) for implementing automatic fare collection (AFC) systems for 52 stations of Mumbai metro line 2A from Dahisar to DN Nagar, line 2B from DN Nagar to Mankhurd and line 7 from Andheri East to Dahisar of the Mumbai metro rail project. The LoA was issued by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority to the consortium for Rs 1.6 billion.
In India, Datamatics is also implementing the AFC system for the Lucknow metro project. This includes the design, supply, installation and end-to-end testing of ticketing systems, gates, servers, hardware networks and software components. The first phase of the project is already operational with eight stations. This is the fastest rolled out AFC system in the country till date.
