ONGC to drill 200 wells in Assam

The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation plans to drill 200 development wells in Sivasagar district of Assam. Of these 200 wells, 70 will be drilled in the Geleki field with average depths ranging from 2,200 metres to 4,500 metres and 30 wells will be drilled in the Rudrasagar fields. The investment for the project is expected to be around Rs 60 billion. The average duration of drilling each well is estimated to be three-four months. The project is likely to take seven years for completion.
