Navayuga Infotech has secured an order to implement its port management system, PortKonnect, for Dubai Customs, UAE. The project involves customisation, implementation and support of vessel and berth management systems for three ports, namely, Dubai Creek, Marfa Deira and Al Hamriya. The project will be executed over the next 12 months.
The implementation of PortKonnect will enable Dubai Customs to enhance the efficiency of vessel management and berthing by automating the process of booking, organising, facilitating, monitoring and tracking the docking of vessels at the ports. It will therefore result in better utilisation of quays, increased safety of customs employees and customers, and improved traffic flow management. The system will also control revenue leakage in collection of fees by putting better controls on the process.
