MoR revises combined reservation quota

The MoR has revised the combined reservation quota of lower berths earmarked for senior citizens, female passengers of 45 years of age and above, and pregnant women in normal mail and express trains as well as in Rajdhani, Duronto and fully AC trains. In the first category of trains, two subcategories have been defined – those having a single coach of the class and those having more than one coach of the class. For the first sub-category, 6, 4 and 3 lower berths per coach will be reserved in sleeper, 3AC and 2AC classes respectively. Under the second subcategory, 7, 4 and 4 lower berths per coach will be reserved in sleeper, 3AC and 2AC classes respectively. As for the Rajdhani, Duronto and fully AC trains, 5 and 4 lower berths per coach will be reserved in 3AC and 2AC classes respectively.
