Maharashtra cabinet approves Phase II of Nagpur Metro

The Maharashtra state cabinet has approved Phase II of the Nagpur Metro Rail Project. The project involves expansion of the metro network in Nagpur city by 48.3 km to provide connectivity to nearby towns and villages of Nagpur. It will comprise 35 stations and five corridors – Automotive Square-Kamhan (13 km), Khapri-Butibori MIDC (18.5 km), Prajapati Nagar-Transport Nagar (5.6 km) Lokmanya Nagar-Hingna (6.7 km), and Vasudeo Nagar-Dattawadi (4.5 km). The total estimated cost of the project is Rs 112.16 billion.
