The Jammu & Kashmir government has allocated funds worth Rs 20 billion for water supply and sewage treatment infrastructure in the state budget 2019-20. Of the total funds, an allocation of Rs 5 billion has been made towards the construction of drainage and sewerage, sewage treatment plants (STPs) and solid waste disposal plants. Meanwhile, a sum of Rs 15 billion has been provided to augment safe drinking water supply across the state.
