The foundation stone for the development of the Paradip-Hyderabad product pipeline (PHPL) and the Bokaro-Angul section of the Jagdishpur-Haldia and Bokaro-Dhamra Gas Pipeline (JHBDPL) project was laid on December 24, 2018. The 1,212 km long PHPL is being built by IOCL at a sanctioned cost of Rs 38 billion. Originating at Paradip and terminating at Hyderabad, it traverses three states – Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It has the capacity of transporting 4.5 million metric tonnes per annum (mmtpa) of petrol, diesel, kerosene and aviation turbine fuel. Further, GAIL (India) Limited is building the 667 km long Bokaro-Angul pipeline sections of the landmark JHBDPL project at a sanctioned cost of Rs 34.37 billion. The pipeline is a part of the Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga project.
