DoT’s proposal for the Chennai Andaman & Nicobar Islands undersea optical fibre cable system has been cleared by an expert appraisal committee of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. The total length of the submarine cable system will be 2,199.66 km and it will provide a speed of 100 Gbps.
