The MoRTH has laid the foundation stone for four national highway projects worth Rs 18.65 billion in Karnataka. The first project involves the widening of the 48.2 km Banavara-Huliyar stretch of National Highway (NH)-234 to two lanes with paved shoulders, at an estimated cost of Rs 1.92 billion, while the second project entails the widening of the 128.35 km Beluru-Belikere stretch of NH-373 to two lanes with paved shoulders, at an estimated cost of Rs 8.49 billion. Further, the Channarayapatna bypass and the Hassan bypass on NH-75, spanning a total length of 20.71 km, will be widened from two to four lanes at a cost of Rs 8.23 billion.
