The MoRTH has inaugurated two national highway projects in Varanasi. The first project is the 16.55 km Phase I of the Varanasi Ring Road constructed at a cost of Rs 7.59 billion. Two road overbridges and a flyover have also been constructed as part of the project. The second project is the four-lane, 17.25 km Babatput-Varanasi stretch of NH-6 constructed at a total cost of Rs 8.13 billion.
