The Indian telecommunications industry has till date installed 500,000 mobile towers, taking the total count of base transceiver stations to over 2,000,000. The number of 4G towers increased by 720,384 (or 207 per cent) between November 30, 2016 and November 13, 2018. Meanwhile, 3G towers grew by 55,592 (or 17 per cent) during the same period.
